Field Hockey Championships: Brebeuf-2, Bishop Tonnos-1

    With fans of both teams encouraging their schools, both Brebeuf and Bishop Tonnos played an amazing, tight game. After starting the game off on the right foot, both teams were very even and it was difficult to predict who would win. In the end, however, Bishop Tonnos fell short as Brebeuf took over with the winning goal.

Congratulations to both teams on a formidable game, and to all participating teams for a great season.

Celtic Field Hockey Season comes to an End

Bishop Ryan’s Lady Celtics hit the field at Mohawk’s Sports Complex last week for quarter-final action. The Celtics faced off against the strong Cathedral Gaels team.

The heavy rain and cold winds did not disrupt winning mindset of the ladies. The girls put forth tremendous effort and played their hearts out in a tough game. Unfortunately, the Celtics fell short in the end, and suffered a hard loss.

This game puts an end to the field hockey season for BR.

Bishop Tonnos moves onto finals

Bishop Tonnos won their semi-final game against Cathedral today, 3 -0. Laura Fortino brought her team to the finals, scoring all three goals.

Bishop Tonnos plays again on Wednesday, October 22, against Brebeuf.

Cathedral wins first round of play-offs.

Cathedral Gaels scored five goals in their playoff game against Bishop Ryan, today, Wednesday October 8th.

The Gaels started the game off with a strong lead, in the pouring rain. Right Wing, Alex Benko scored three goals in the first half, shocking her proud team and, fans. Benko is the first player on the Cathedral team to pull a Hat Trick, all season. 

The Gaels did not coast through the second half. Maintaining the pressure, two more goals were scored by Center Forward, Melody Campos and, Right Wing, Stephanie Pataracchia. The game ended in the possession of Cathedral.

The win brings the Gaels to the semi-final game against Bishop Tonnos, on October 15th.

Girls Field Hockey: Glendale Bears win over Delta

First time in a long time

For the first time in seven years, the Glendale Bears girls field hockey team won a game today, Tuesday October 7 against Delta 4-0.

The goal scorers were Chantel, Sinita (2), and Rachel. The goalie Brittany earned the shut-out! Their record is one win and three losses.The team played as a team and worked really hard,  it payed off!
